Painters Morningside

Morningside grew early in Brisbane's suburban expansion, shaped by the rail line and the industry along it. Most of the original housing is early to mid twentieth century — timber cottages and post-war homes on modest blocks, with narrow streets and consistent lot sizes that came from incremental subdivision rather than planned estates. It was also one of the suburbs built out by the Queensland Housing Commission after the war.
